Course Description
Prerequisites:Familiarity with Windows based computer operating systems and an understanding of AEC Building terminology are both assets for this course. It is preferred that students have completed the Autodesk Revit Modeling – Essentials course and one Revit Discipline Modeling – Intermediate course.
Expectations:Using the functionality of Autodesk Revit features, students learn to utilize the Revit tools to create dynamic custom families for use in Revit project templates and files.
Topics Covered:- Understanding Revit family templates, categories, parameter types, and data
- Creating and modifying Revit family geometry forms
- Defining Revit family object styles, subcategories, and fill patterns
- Understanding insertion points, symbolic lines, and connectors
- Building shared parameter files and custom schedules
- Flexing parametric geometry with dimension tools
- Using formulas, nested families, and lookup tables
