Autodesk Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3 has just been recently released and is available for download and installation for all subscription customers of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 as well as subscribers to the Infrastructure Design Suite Premium and Ultimate Suites.  This productivity pack adds enhanced capabilities and resources to an already feature packed version of the software.

Traverse Input, Editing and Adjustment

The Autodesk Civil 3D 2016 Productivity Pack 3 gives additional tools to survey professionals by adding a new tool for field traverse entry and adjustment.

The Traverse Editor tool is started from the toolbox. The tool opens a new entry table that lets you enter your field traverse information.  The tool will create COGO points as you enter and provide visual feedback of your traverse in your drawing. You can enter data by picking existing COGO points, angle and distance or bearings.  Save your entered traverse data in a .TRV2 data format for later recall.

Once your data is entered you can start the Traverse Adjustment tool.  This tool will open a new “Traverse Adjustment” window showing your existing traverse information, as well as the adjusted values for any of the supported adjustment methods.  The traverse adjustment tool supports Compass, Crandall, and Transit rules, as well as Grant Line and angular balancing.

Once you have chosen your desired adjustment method, you can apply them and write the new values back to your drawing.

An adjustment report can also be generated for filing based on your chosen adjustment method.

 

AutoCAD Civil 3D Subassemblies

Also included in this Productivity Pack are some new specialized subassemblies that can be added to the existing subassemblies already packaged with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016.

These subassemblies come as Autodesk Subassembly Composer .pkt files and can be imported via the Import Civil 3D Subassembly tool. The new subassembly .pkt files are located in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2016\enu\ProPack 3 Subassemblies. 

The tool will add your chosen subassemblies into the Toolbar and or add them to your Content Catalog.

The productivity pack is available for download through your Autodesk account via https://manage.autodesk.com.  Select your Products and Services and scroll to “AutoCAD Civil 3D”, choose “Updates and Enhancements” in the pop-up dialog and scroll down until you find the link to download the Productivity Pack 3.  You can also choose any of the other enhancements available to the software from this window.
