If you are trying to use the Geolocation feature in Civil 3D or AutoCAD, and after using the GEOMAP command, the map does not show up, you may need to adjust your drawing view to be within range of the coordinate system that is set in your drawing.  Please see below for a solution to correct the issue.

Solution:

The GEOMAP command will work if :

  • You are connected to A360,
  • A coordinate system has been assigned to your drawing.
  • You have accepted use of Online images. (You are asked after the _GEOMAP command.)

The map is displayed if the view is within the coordinate system range (and if the proxy settings is correctly/firewall settings is OK).

If you don’t see the aerial imagery :

  • Go to 360.autodesk.com with (all) your browsers, log in and log out. Clean the internet cache files.
  • Start the product (C3D) if it says you are already logged in, then please log Out from within C3D (upper right corner).

Now you should be fully logged out.
Assign a coordinate system to your C3D drawing, zoom in an area covered by this coordinate system (make sure you are within the range of the CS) and type GEOMAP to bring the aerail…

If you are outside of the coordinate system range, you can

  • Convert the drawing to a more appropriate coordinate system and bring the image in
  • Change the min/max latitude/longitude as described below.

Open the coordinate system in use and check if the minimum and maximum settings are correct for the location of interest (MAPCSLIBRARY).

  • If the settings are not correct, duplicate the coordinate system in order to be able to edit it.
  • In the duplicated system, adjust the minimum and maximum Latitude/Longitude settings.
